Children First, the exclusive provider of Head Start and Early Head Start services for Sarasota County, has been recognized as one of the 2025 Best Nonprofits to Work For by The NonProfit Times, the leading national business publication for nonprofit management.
This marks the third time Children First has received this prestigious honor, underscoring the agency’s ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive, mission-driven workplace for both the families it serves and its staff.
Each year, The NonProfit Times partners with Best Companies Group to identify and celebrate nonprofit organizations that prioritize employee satisfaction and workplace excellence. Of hundreds of organizations nationwide, only 50 are named to the list.
Nonprofits are evaluated through a rigorous two-part survey process. The first portion reviews organizational policies and practices, while the second—weighted more heavily—gathers direct feedback from employees about their work experience.
“Our staff are the heart of our mission, and this national recognition reflects the deep value we place on creating a culture built on respect, collaboration, and support,” says CEO Philip Tavill. “We are honored to once again be recognized among the top nonprofits in the nation.”
